Form 8655: letting StartEase deposit and file as your authorized agent
What Form 8655 is, when you need it, and how to choose who makes your federal tax deposits in StartEase Payroll.
Do I need Form 8655 for StartEase to deposit my payroll taxes?
Yes, if you are on Managed payroll and choose StartEase as your authorized agent. This option is part of Managed payroll only. Form 8655 is the IRS form that authorizes a reporting agent. If you choose to make your own deposits from your own EFTPS account, you do not sign Form 8655 for StartEase.
The IRS publishes Form 8655 and its instructions. Read them for what the form covers and who signs it. StartEase has not copied the rules here.
